When I was visiting Singapore in March 2002 I was walking along Orchard Road from the direction of the Shangri-La Hotel. I remember crossing Scotts Road and eventually I found myself standing on a corner looking across at the Orchard Plaza. I was immediately intrigued by a small tailoring establishment which occupied a very small triangular corner of the building. I was viewing for the first time, Ehkay Corner Tailors at 150 Orchard Road.
I went across for a closer look and soon found myself in conversation with Dinesh, fondly known as Danny. I was captivated by the patterned silk materials and had no hesitation in ordering some shirts. They were ready next day and beautifully finished. This wonderful material has proved perfect for the traveller. The shirts were casual but smart. They wash easily and dry quickly and no ironing is required.
On my return to the UK I contacted Tailor Danny again and a further order was quickly dispatched.
Finding Tailor Danny has proved to be the best shopping discovery in all my travels. Since 2002 my wife and I have passed through Singapore many times. In fact, our travel arrangements are often organised in such a way to include a visit to Singapore and Ehkay Corner Tailors. I have had shirts, both casual and formal, trousers, shorts and a whole range of clothing tailored. One favourite is a silk patterned long-sleeved shirt with matching tie. My wife has also had blouses, dresses, again casual and formal. Every garment has been tailored to perfection.
From home I can telephone, fax or e-mail and the response is immediate. Ehkay Corner Tailors has proved to be a treasure. Tailor Danny is a gentleman and his wife Hina is a most gracious and charming lady. Nothing is a problem for them. Technology (PayPal) enables easy worldwide payment.
At the time of writing it is August 2007 and I am now finalising another order. Hina has sent me swatches of materials from which to choose trousers and shirts. In March 2008 we will again be in Singapore. Our first port of call will be a visit to Danny and Hina.
Ehkay Corner Tailors – long may you remain.

Hi Tailor Danny
Sorry it has taken me so long to email. The tailored suit and shirts arrived about a month ago and all fit perfectly. I’ve had a lot of compliments on the tailored suit, especially from younger folks like my daughters. Thank you again for your quality tailoring. Ty Logan |

Hi Tailors Danny and Hina!
Remember us! We bought a couple tailored ladies tops and a tailored suit from you in August.
They’re all great and we love them. Here’s a photo of one of the tailored tops - sorry it took so long. Kath Nicholls and Del Cockfield |
